MARSHFIELD — Chris Rohland will return to the Marshfield Select Board after securing a decisive victory in Saturday’s special election to fill the remaining 21 months of the seat vacated by Trish Simpson.
According to preliminary results, Rohland captured nearly 69% of the vote in a three-way contest, surging past candidates Jack Griffin and Joe Pecevich.
Final Tally:
Chris Rohland: 2,477 votes (68.4%)
Jack Griffin: 959 votes (26.5%)
Joe Pecevich: 185 votes (5.1%)
Rohland, a former Select Board member and current Advisory Board member, ran on a platform focused on ending administrative gridlock, filling the long-vacant Town Administrator position, and allowing residents a ballot vote on the town’s proposed budget override.
His overwhelming win breaks a months-long board impasse, restoring the Select Board to its full three-member capacity alongside members Eric Kelley and Rick Smith.
