These resignations are regrettable but not surprising given the frustration of devoting thousands of volunteer hours to the town, of late without fruition. The issue goes deeper than this specific door issue.

Look no further than the most recent ballot, where 27% of registered voters turned out and voted. 60% of those actual voters rejected replacement of a 50+ year-old fire station. The need of a replacement - for the safety of first responders as well as our citizens - has been evident for at least a decade. It would have added about $500 per year to the average annual bill. It's a democracy and we get what we deserve.
