PLYMOUTH — April 9, 2026 — The Plymouth County Commissioners voted unanimously to formally oppose a slate of state legislative bills that officials warn could drain millions of dollars from municipal budgets by eliminating key enforcement tools for unpaid taxes and parking tickets. Deputy Treasurer Jeff Welch characterized the proposed changes as “reinventing a square wheel” that would strip cities and towns of the ability to ensure tax compliance through the Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV).
