The Pembroke Select Board advanced several key municipal updates during a brief but productive session on Wednesday night. Leading the agenda, Select Board member Steve Ciciotti presented a comprehensive reform proposal for the town’s General Bylaw Review Committee. Developed in tandem with member Tracy Marino as a designated working group, the new blueprint aims to clarify the committee’s scope, clean up syntax and definitions within town bylaws, and ensure local rules align closely with state guidelines.

A central point of debate focused on structural longevity. While the initial draft suggested one-year terms, Ciciotti and the board opted for three-year staggered terms to align with other municipal bodies and prevent total membership turnover at a single time. Town Manager William Chenard recommended structuring the current board’s terms based on seniority. The board approved the structural reforms unanimously.
