Paraprofessional Placed on Leave Amid Allegations at Hull High School
Investigations launched by SSEC, Hull Public Schools, and Hull Police Department into claims of inappropriate relationships with students
HULL - January 29 - A paraprofessional at Hull High School, employed by South Shore Educational Collaborative (SSEC), is on leave after allegations surfaced about inappropriate relationships with students.
SSEC officials learned of the allegations on Jan. 29, immediately launching a joint investigation with Hull Public Schools administration.
Hull Police Chief John Dunn confirms that law enforcement is also investigating the matter.
"We're looking into these allegations and working closely with SSEC and Hull Public Schools administrators," Dunn says in a statement.
The Department of Children and Families is conducting its own investigation as well.
In a joint statement, SSEC Executive Director Michael Losche and Hull Public Schools Superintendent Michael Jette address the situation:
"Following our policies, SSEC notified Hull Public Schools administration, and we started a joint investigation. The staff member was immediately placed on leave."
The paraprofessional worked full-time in a Collaborative program at Hull High School. The allegations involve inappropriate relationships between the staff member and students at the school.
Both SSEC and Hull Public Schools are fully cooperating with the Hull Police Department and the Department of Children and Families in their investigations.
As the investigation is ongoing, authorities haven't released more details about the nature of the allegations or the identity of the paraprofessional involved.
