NORWELL - December 3 - The Norwell Select Board voted unanimously Tuesday night to authorize Town Administrator Darleen Sullivan to sign an agreement allowing the police department to install two license plate reader cameras, marking a significant investment in public safety technology funded entirely by a federal grant.
Flock cameras are a violation of civil rights. The argument for why they should be used could exactly be the reason why we don’t use them!
As a society we are using technology more and more frequently for innovation and yet it seems to me that it allows us to be lazier in terms of our analysis and workload.
I will be speaking to my senator about this. I’m not a Norwell resident but we share a senator and these cameras as pointed out by the select board impact me as much as they impact Norwell residents bc I drive through the town regularly.
corrected the number of Flock cameras in neighboring towns
I wonder how deeply the select board really looked at how flock uses the data.
