Low Voter Turnout Marks Kingston's Annual Town Election
Carl Pike wins Selectman seat; Jesse Keith secures spot on Elementary School Committee, and Sheila Vaughn holds her seat as a write in.
KINGSTON - May 17 - Kingston's annual election on Saturday saw voters choose new officials and approve a write-in candidate for the school committee.
Carl Pike, currently chairing the Finance Committee, won a seat on the Select Board with 388 votes. He'll serve a three-year term.
The Kingston Elementary School Committee race had strong write-in contenders, but Jesse Keith, who was on the ballot, came out on top with 385 votes. Write-in candidate and incumbent Sheila Marie Vaughn received 85 votes, the highest among write-ins for the second seat.
For the Board of Health, Rosemary Donahoe secured the win with 329 votes, beating Joseph F. Casna Jr. and William J. Kavol.
Robert James Erlandsen ran unopposed for Water Commissioner, getting 385 votes. Joseph Paul Cunningham Jr. took the Recreation Commission seat with 390 votes.
Amy Cortright and Megan Garrity Cannon won the two available seats on the Silver Lake Regional School Committee with 360 and 341 votes respectively.
The May 17, 2025 election saw 572 voters participate across Kingston's four precincts.
