HULL - May 19 - Polls have closed at Hull's annual election on May 19 sees familiar faces return to the Select Board, while other positions get a shake-up.
Voters have re-elected Brian S. McCarthy and Irwin Nesoff to the Select Board for another three-year term. McCarthy secured 881 votes, with Nesoff close behind at 782. Christopher Patrick Niland, the challenger, came in third with 475 votes.
In a notable upset, Lisa Ann Boretti has taken a seat on the Housing Authority from incumbent Kathleen M. Bogdan. Boretti won with 660 votes to Bogdan's 504.
The open Planning Board race resulted in a win for Abby Rose Klieman, who received 771 votes, beating Edwin Richard Parsons Jr.'s 448.
Courtney Littlefield has claimed the one-year School Committee seat, garnering 938 votes compared to Linda M. Hetue's 222. The three-year school committee seats went to incumbent Liliana Hedrick and newcomer Brendan Kilroe, garnering 828 and 742 votes respectively, besting Ernest Minelli’s 513.
At a forum before the election, McCarthy expressed his gratitude, saying, "I'm humbled to be on the select board at this time and I'd like to continue for three more years."
Nesoff highlighted his commitment to transparency, stating, "I have a monthly newsletter that I send out. I promised when I ran the first time that I'd be open, involve people, and invite input."
Several incumbents ran unopposed and were re-elected, including George R. Boylen as Town Moderator, Lori West as Town Clerk, and Richard J. Morris as Assessor.
In the Municipal Light Board race, Thomas A. Burns and Daniel James Ciccariello have won the two available seats. Alice Sloan and DJ Simon won the two available Library Trustee seats.
