Danielson, Stansel Wins Contested School Committee Race in East Bridgewater
Three-way race for two seats decided by 7 votes; other town positions filled unopposed
EAST BRIDGEWATER - May 17 - East Bridgewater's recent town election saw two new faces join the School Committee. Aron J. Danielson and Elizabeth A. Stansel won the only contested race on the ballot, securing 204 and 117 votes respectively across the town's four precincts. Christie M. Layton, the third candidate, came in close with 110 votes.
In the uncontested races, Katherine Mullen clinched a three-year term on the Select Board with 262 votes. At a pre-election forum, Mullen shared her vision: "I want East Bridgewater to be a great place for young families. We need to boost our revenue, but without changing the town's character. It's about finding that balance."
Other unopposed winners include Steven R. Solari, re-elected as Assessor with 214 votes, and Thomas D. Duquette, who keeps his seat on the Board of Health with 224 votes.
The Library Trustee positions went to Lauren M. Roy and Jennifer A. Stewart, each earning three-year terms with 193 and 198 votes respectively.
For the Planning Board, Kevin M. Reilly and Dwayne Crosby secured spots with 186 and 196 votes.
The Housing Authority's will be determined by write ins when the official results are posted.
