Crystal Kelly Wins Hingham Planning Board Seat in Landslide Victory
Former Conservation Commission chair secures 80% of votes, pledges to address neighborhood concerns and improve public engagement
HINGHAM - May 3 - Hingham residents have elected new town officials and settled a contested Planning Board race in the Annual Town Election on May 3, 2025.
Crystal G. Kelly has won a seat on the Planning Board, beating Thomas F. Patch with 997 votes to 252. It was the only contested race.
At a recent candidates forum, Kelly shared her motivation: "I'm stepping up for the Planning Board because I believe in Hingham's future. This board plays a crucial role in our town's development, even if it's not always in the spotlight. They handle permits, review site plans, approve new bylaws, and help shape our community's growth."
In uncontested races, Michael J. Puzo keeps his position as Town Moderator with 1,050 votes, while Julie Moran Strehle joins the Select Board with 1,055 votes.
Other winners include Sara A. Abbott for the Board of Assessors, Rosemary D. Byrne wins reelection to the Board of Health, and Michael D. Reve wins reelection the Municipal Light Board.
The School Committee has three winners: Alyson Baron Anderson and Matthew J. Cosman hold their seats, and John C. Mooney wins an open seat.
Joseph M. Fisher vacated his seat on the Select Board and is the new Sewer Commissioner, and Adrienne F. Ramsey has been reelected to a spot on the Recreation Commission.
