ABINGTON - November 15 - Nicole Emery has been elected to the Abington Select Board following a special election held on Saturday, November 15th. The election was held to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Amanda Zompetti.
Candidate Nicole Emery was successful in her bid to join the Select Board. The vacancy she fills has nearly three years remaining on the term.
Following the results, Nicole Emery posted a thank you on her Facebook Page, stating, “We did it! I’m so incredibly thankful for everybody who supported my campaign”. She also acknowledged her opponent, Mike Lavery, thanking him for stepping up to run and commending him for his hard work.
Emery’s opponent, Michael Lavery, congratulated her on the outcome, in a Facebook post calling it a “Well run and well won campaign”. Lavery also expressed inspiration from the outpouring of support he received during his campaign.
